I bring a wealth of experience to tutoring with my background in basic and translational research and high school science teaching.

My educational background includes a B.S. degree in physiology with a minor in nutrition, and a PhD in Physiology. I worked for nearly two decades researching ion channel biophysics, neural signaling pathways, and personalized treatment strategies in melanoma. In 2013, after successfully completing a teaching program at NC State, I embarked on a career in teaching with Teach For America. I have dedicated the past 11 years to teaching biology, AP biology, and Earth & Environmental Science to a wide spectrum of high school students - from newcomers (multi-language learners) to academically gifted learners. I am licensed to teach 7-12 grade science and English to speakers of other languages.
